Am 12. September jährt sich der Todestag von André Chéron zum 30. mal. Neben seinen Erfolgen als Schachspieler (u.a. franz. Meister der Jahre 1926, 1927 und 1929) ist er der Nachwelt vor allem als Schachautor in Erinnerung geblieben. Er veröffentlichte über 450 Kompositionen und gilt bis heute als einer der bedeutesten Endspieltheoretiker. Sein vierbändiges Werk "Lehrbuch und Handbuch der Endspiele" galt lange Zeit als DAS Standardwerk über Endspiele und wird in Schachkreisen ehrfürchtig DER CHÉRON genannt.
Ihm zu Ehren findet dieses Turnier statt. Bitte verzichtet auf jegliche technische Hilfe; die Benutzung des CHÉRONS ist ausdrücklich erlaubt!
